Offensive explosion sends Shamrocks past Minotauros

MINOT, N.D. – An offensive explosion in the second period propelled the Watertown Shamrocks past the Minot Minotauros 7-4 Friday night at Maysa Arena.

Vincent Curasi opened the scoring for the Shamrocks at 6:27 of the first period. Watertown then erupted in the second frame with goals from Owen Fask (16:46), Zach Boren (14:44), Justin Obrochta (13:09), and Kyle Greene (5:25).

Antons Macijevskis (17:37) and Justin Bartley (1:17) tacked on goals in the third period. Goaltender Aden Gariepy stopped 26 of 30 shots on goal for the Shamrocks. Joe Rice notched two assists in the victory.

Watertown (10-9-0-0) faces off against Minot again Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NAHL.com and Star 98.1.
