MINOT, N.D. – A hat trick from Zach Boren and a four-assist night from Carter Sproule sent the Watertown Shamrocks past the Minot Minotauros 8-2 at Maysa Arena on Saturday to complete the weekend sweep.
Boren started the scoring, notching goals at the 19:03 mark and 9:49 mark of the first period. He completed the hat trick on the power play at 11:02 in the third. Kyle Greene and Vincent Curasi also scored in the first period. Justin Bartley found the back of the net 1:56 into the second period. Owen Fask (15:59) and Sproule (14:26) lit the lamp in the third period to seal the victory. Goaltender JJ Salajko was solid, stopping 27 of 29 shots on goal.
Watertown (11-9-0-0) travels to Mason City, Iowa next weekend for a pair of games against the North Iowa Bulls.
