MADISON, S.D. – It was a battle of the state’s top programs Tuesday to open the season, as Madison edged out Deuel by .35 of a point, 133.300 to 132.950 in a high school gymnastics dual.
Individually for Deuel, Tia Engels took home the top score in vault (9.150) and floor (8.800). Engels also earned second place on bars (7.950) and third place in the all-around (33.400). Hannah Cutshaw was top on beam (9.300) and first in the all-around (33.700).
Next up for Deuel gymnastics is a dual meet at Estelline/Hendricks on December 8th.
