Boren’s Scoring Spree Leads Shamrocks in Weekend Split Against Bulls

MASON CITY, I.A. – Zach Boren led the Watertown Shamrocks scoring on Friday night as they split their weekend road games against the North Iowa Bulls.

At the 6:56 mark of the first period, Boren reached the back of the net with assists from Riley Greene and Owen Chartier. Boren opened the third period with another goal at 18:08. Owen Fask (2:12) and Grady Dimberio (0:57) also scored in the third as the Shamrocks beat the Bulls 4-1.

Goalie Mason Gudridge posted a solid showing, stopping 24 of 25 attempts.

On Saturday, a busy second period saw Carter Spourle answer the Bulls’ two early goals at the 8:42 mark with the assist from Justin Bartley and Erick Comstock. The Bulls scored their third goal of the game, followed by the Shamrocks’ Memphis Wilcox lighting the lamp (3:53).

With an assist from Gudridge, Chartier tied the game 3-3 at 17:50 in the third. The Bulls added one more to get the win by a final of 4-3.

JJ Salajko stopped 25 of 29 shots on goal during Saturday’s matchup.

Up next for the Shamrocks (12-10-0-0) is a pair of road games on December 12-13. The games will be broadcast on NAHL.com and on Star 98.1.
