Arrows Basketball Takes One of Two in Brookings Doubleheader

BROOKINGS, SD – The Watertown Arrow girls basketball squad came out on the wrong end of a back-and-forth contest Friday night, falling to Brookings 43-41 in overtime.

Lily Mack led the scoring for Watertown with nine points and three assists. Andi Olson added eight points, Kynsee Russell tallied seven points, and Riley Hansen added six points and 15 rebounds. Brookings was led by Macy Even with 14 points.

Watertown took a 15-14 lead into halftime. The Bobcats won a back-and-forth third quarter, tying the score at 27. The game remained knotted at 38 heading into the extra frame. The lead changed 12 times in the contest.

The Watertown boys downed Brookings 66-45 in their season-opening contest Friday night. No statistics were reported to WTNSports.

Both Watertown basketball squads will come home to face Mitchell on December 16.
