GPL Sweeps Opening Day at Lutheran Invitational

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Great Plains Lutheran boys and girls basketball teams came away with two dominant victories on Friday during the Lutheran Invitational Tournament at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Panther boys took down Northland Lutheran 88-28 to begin the day. Three GPL players reached double digits, led by Jarret Bauer with 20 points. Lucas Johnson added 17 and Holden Karli tallied 11. Aiden Cameron was the leading rebounder with five boards. In total, 11 GPL players all notched their name in the scorebook. The Panthers shot 65% from the field in the contest.

The Great Plains Lutheran girls found similar success with a 59-25 win over Michigan Lutheran. Kate Holmen led the charge for GPL with 16 points and eight boards, Julia Prahl added 12 and Katherine Prahl had 11 points and four assists.

GPL continues play at the Lutheran Invitational Tournament on Saturday. The girls face Nebraska Lutheran at 12:30 p.m. while the boys play Michigan Lutheran at 2 p.m.
