BRITTON, SD – The Deuel Cardinals were tops in four out of the five events and came away with a dominant win at the Britton-Hecla Invite on Tuesday with a top team score of 136.55. Sisseton placed second with a 131.95, the host Britton-Hecla took home third with a 130.60, and Milbank Area rounded out the scores with a 129.95.
The Cardinals’ Laycee Anderson took first in the all-around (34.55), tied for first on the bars (8.0), second on the beam (8.8), and fifth on the vault (8.7) and floor (9.05). Hannah Cutshaw placed first on the beam (9.05), second in the all-around (34.5), and second on the vault (8.9). Brooklyn Tanner tied for first on the bars (8.0) and fourth in the all-around (33.35). Adysyn Wiesner placed first on the vault (9.0), fifth on the bars (7.6), and finished the all-around with a score of 33.2.
Other top five scores for Deuel included Tai Engels, who placed third on the vault (8.85), and Lauryn Peterreins, who placed fourth on the bars (7.65).
