BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Brookings Rangers outshot the Watertown Lakers 38-20 to secure a 3-1 victory Friday night in South Dakota high school girls’ hockey action.
Brookings carried a 1-0 lead into the third period thanks to a power-play goal from Kinzey Grendler at the 7:23 mark of the first. The Rangers then extended their lead in the final frame with goals from Julissa Peterson (11:36) and Miayah Foerster (8:09) to seal the win.
Nylah Vannelli scored the lone goal for Watertown at 3:29 of the third period, assisted by Harper Hendricks.
Watertown travels to Fort Pierre for a matchup against Oahe on Saturday, Dec. 20.
