Friday Firepower Leads Shamrocks to Victory; Bobcats Bounce Back Saturday

WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Watertown Shamrocks earned a weekend split against the Bismarck Bobcats in front of standing-room-only crowds at the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena.

Despite being outshot 35-24, Watertown earned a 4-1 win Friday night. The Shamrocks’ Grady Dimberio started the scoring at 5:30 in the first period. Vincent Curasi added to the lead at 11:12 in the third, and Owen Fask tacked on another for the Shamrocks at 9:39 in the third. Zach Boren wrapped up the scoring with an empty-net goal with just 27 seconds remaining.

On Saturday, Watertown could not find the net in a 4-0 loss to Bismarck. Dane Callaway stopped all 25 shots on goal for the Bobcats to secure the shutout.

Watertown will have the week off for the Christmas holiday and return to action Jan. 2 and 3 for a home series against the Minnesota Mallards.
