ROCHESTER, MN – The Watertown Arrow boys wrestling team competed Friday and Saturday at the 2025 MatBoss Minnesota Christmas Tournament held at the Mayo Civic Center.
As a team, Watertown placed 19th overall with a score of 109.0. Braylon Schell was the highest individual placer for the Arrows, taking home fifth place after winning by fall over Damon Mann of Kasson-Mantorville in the 107-pound division. Brody Randall placed seventh at 113 pounds with a decision victory over Noah Schaefer of Zumbrota-Mazeppa. In the 121-pound bracket, Chase Mathews took home ninth place following a major decision loss to Deacon Ramthum of Mound Westonka, while Kutler Swenson also secured ninth at 139 pounds with a decision over Walker Faulrapp of Elk River.
After falling in their individual brackets, five Arrows took part in the MatBoss Last Chance Tourney. Jonah Anderson placed second in the 114A bracket after a major decision loss to Dylan Sandness of Bismarck Legacy, and Keslar Swenson took third at 145A with a win by fall over Chris Meyers of Woodbury. In the 160C bracket, Owen Petersen placed third following a decision loss to Peter Klapperich of Zumbrota-Mazeppa. Chase Payne also secured a third-place finish at 215E after falling to Hauk Davis of Farmington, while Conner Christianson claimed second place at 285C by winning by fall over Albert Karpeh of Brainerd.
Next up for the Watertown boys is the Floyd Farrand Holiday Tournament in Sioux Falls on December 30th.
