WATERTOWN, SD — Tea Area did just enough to escape with a 65-61 win over Watertown in South Dakota high school boys basketball Saturday night at the Watertown Civic Arena.
The Titans took a 34-23 lead into halftime, but a 20-point third quarter pulled Watertown within two heading into the final frame. Tea Area did just enough in the fourth, outscoring Watertown 20-18 to secure the victory.
The Arrows were led by three players in double digits. Carter Buisker shot 4-for-13 from the field and 4-for-9 from 3-point range to tally 17 points; Jack Mack and Isaac Rehorst each added 13 points. Rehorst also nabbed eight rebounds.
Gavin Shawd led Tea Area with 28 points. The Titans shot 52% from the field, while Watertown shot 33%.
Watertown (2-1) will join the girls team for two doubleheaders West River against Sturgis on Jan. 2 and Douglas on Jan. 3.
