WATERTOWN, S.D. – After 28 years with the program, the last nine spent at the helm, head Watertown volleyball coach Rosemary Bellum has announced her resignation, pending school board approval.

Bellum leaves behind a storied legacy, including a head coaching record of 193-81. Under her leadership, the Arrows secured three Eastern South Dakota (ESD) titles and a state championship in 2019. The program remained a powerhouse through her final seasons, securing a sixth-place finish at the 2024 Class AA state tournament and improving to fourth place in 2025.

In a statement released by the Watertown School District, officials praised Bellum’s relentless work ethic and her commitment to “doing things the right way.”

“Coach Bellum emphasized fundamentals, discipline, and preparation,” the district stated. “Her dedication extended far beyond the matches as she spent countless hours in the gym developing the program and the players within it.”
