BROOKINGS, S.D. – Brookings edged Deuel by 1.4 points Monday night to claim a dual victory in high school gymnastics. The Bobcats bested the Cardinals 136.85-135.45.
Deuel’s top performers included Hannah Cutshaw, who took first place on the beam (9.2). Cutshaw also placed second in the all-around (34.95), second on the bars (8.15), fourth on the floor (8.85), and fifth on the vault (8.75).
Tai Engels placed second on the floor (9.2), third on the beam (9.0), fourth in the all-around (34.65), and fourth on the vault (8.8). Other top-five finishes for the Cardinals included Laycee Andersen, who took fifth in the all-around (33.2) and fifth on the beam (8.55), while Lauryn Peterreins placed third on the bars (8.05).
Next up for Deuel is the Linda Collignon Invite in Madison on Jan. 17.
