WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Watertown Shamrocks announced a series of major roster moves over the past week, acquiring forwards Sebastian Haborak and Ben Davis while celebrating a Division I collegiate commitment for defenseman Andrew Smulkstys.

Haborak joins the Shamrocks from the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The 2008-born Slovakian forward appeared in seven games for the Stampede this season, recording two assists and a plus-1 rating. Both helpers came during a Nov. 28 matchup against the U.S. National Team Development Program, a game in which he also registered a season-high five shots on goal.

Davis is a 2007-born forward acquired from the Langley Rivermen of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). He brings significant junior experience to Watertown, having recorded 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 30 games with Langley this season. He previously spent the 2023-24 campaign in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Wenatchee Wild, where he appeared in 49 games as a rookie.

Smulkstys announced his commitment to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. The 2007-born defenseman is currently in his first full season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) after signing a tender with Watertown in November 2024. He has recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) through 26 games this season.

With his commitment, Smulkstys becomes the second active Shamrocks defenseman headed to a Division I program, joining Erick Comstock. He is the seventh player in the organization’s history to earn a Division I commitment while playing for the club.
