WATERTOWN, S.D. — Castlewood earned a doubleheader sweep of Great Plains Lutheran in high school basketball Thursday night.
In the boys’ game, the No. 3 Warriors jumped out to an early lead, heading into halftime up 33-7 before cruising to a 61-27 victory. Holden Karli led Great Plains Lutheran (GPL) with eight points, while Isaac Kjenstad added five. Castlewood did not report individual statistics.
On the girls’ side, Cassidy Kirwan and Claire Horn each scored 14 points to power Castlewood to a 49-36 win. Katherine Prahl led GPL with a game-high 16 points. Kate Holmen and Emily Moritz each chipped in six.
Castlewood travels to the DVC Classic on Jan. 17, where the boys will face Centerville and the girls will play Luverne, Minnesota. Both GPL teams return to action Jan. 20 at Waverly-South Shore.
