Top Finishes for Evenson, Olsen, Hausman and Hartung at Huron Gymnastics Invite

HURON, S.D. – Shauna Evenson took home the top score on the beam and Watertown placed third as a team at the Huron Gymnastics Invitational Friday. The Arrows racked up 141.3 points. Mitchell won the event with a score of 146.25.

In addition to her top score of 9.65 on the beam, Evenson placed fourth on the floor (9.65), sixth in the all-around (36.15), and ninth on the bars (8.85).

Other top-10 finishes for Watertown included Macy Olsen, who placed third on the floor (9.7), fourth in the all-around (36.3) and fifth on the beam (9.45). Ashlynn Andrews finished eighth on the vault (8.9) and eighth on the floor (9.55).

Estelline/Hendricks also had a strong showing, finishing fifth as a team with 139.35 points. Maggie Hausman took home third in the all-around (36.45) and vault (9.35), and seventh on the bars (8.75).

Riah Hartung placed sixth on the floor (9.65), eighth on the beam (9.2) and ninth in the all-around (34.35) for the Redhawks.

Estelline/Hendricks will next compete in a home triangular against Sioux Falls Jefferson and Roosevelt on Jan. 20. Watertown will host a quadrangular on Jan. 20 against Aberdeen Central, Britton-Hecla and O’Gorman.
