TEA, S.D. — A 21% shooting performance from the field doomed Watertown in a 55-29 loss to Tea Area on Tuesday night in high school girls basketball.
The Titans jumped out to a big lead early, heading into halftime up 35-16 behind 40% shooting. Tea doubled its lead over Watertown in the second half, leading by as many as 29 points in the third quarter to secure the victory.
Watertown was led by Kynsee Russell, who finished with nine points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Lydia Stemwedel followed with seven points, while Jordan Remmers added five and Lily Mack had four.
Tea Area was led by Ana Binde, who scored 20 points, and Jayna VanLaecken, who added 14.
Watertown returns home for a doubleheader against Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central this weekend.
