Watertown Wrestling: Girls Dominate in Brandon; Boys Top Mitchell

BRANDON, S.D. — Watertown wrestling competed at the Brandon Valley triangular Tuesday night, where the boys split their duals and the girls swept the competition.

The boys team charged to a 69-11 dual win over Mitchell. Earning victories for the Arrows were Braylon Schell (106), Jonah Anderson (113), Chase Mathews (120), Brody Randall (126), Shea Richter (132), Braxten Petersen (138), Max Stroup (144), Keslar Swenson (150), Markus Pitkin (165), Landen Lewis (175), Cade Kuemper (190) and Kaleb Khalil (215).

The Arrows fell to Brandon Valley in the second dual of the night, 41-29. Schell, Randall, Richter, Stroup, Gage Lohr (150) and Pitkin saw their hands raised in the loss.

The Watertown girls swept their portion of the night, starting with a 42-12 win over Mitchell. Winners included Vanessa Anderson (105), Brooklynn Randall (120), Olivia Anderson (125), Brooke Grajczyk (140), Nevaeh Schanbeck (170), Allison Konrad (190) and Eden Hach (235).

The girls followed up by defeating host Brandon Valley 42-27. Lily Lindsey (100), Randall, Anderson, Grajczyk, Schanbeck, Konrad and Hach all went 2-0 on the night to lead the Arrows.

Watertown returns home Jan. 29 for a triangular against Aberdeen Central and Harrisburg.
