Arrows Tune Up for ESD Meet with Tri Win at Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. — Watertown took the top spot Thursday at a triangular meet in Aberdeen. The Arrows amassed 144.25 points, followed by host Aberdeen Central with 132 and Huron with 122.35.

For the Arrows, Shauna Evenson claimed the all-around title with a score of 36.35. Evenson also placed first on vault (9.2) and floor (9.7), while taking fourth on bars (8.3) and beam (9.15). Emery Gaikowski finished second in the all-around (35.55), bars (8.9) and floor (9.45). Elly Dingsor posted the top score on bars (9.25) and placed fifth on beam (8.95) and floor (9.05).

Other top-five finishers for Watertown included Lyric Diedrich, who placed second on vault (9.0) and fourth on floor (9.15). Macy Olsen took second on beam (9.35) and third on bars (8.85), while Ella Palmquist finished third on beam (9.2). Ashlynn Andrews added a fifth-place finish on bars (8.3).

Watertown gymnastics competes next at the ESD Conference Meet on Jan. 31.
