Balanced Attack Leads Washington Girls Past Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. – Dana Harpe, Josie Biteler and Layla Berte all scored in double figures to lead Sioux Falls Washington to a 61-35 win over Watertown in high school girls basketball Thursday at the Watertown Civic Arena.

Harpe finished the night with 20 points, while Biteler recorded 12 points and eight steals. Berte added 11 points. Both Biteler and Berte fell just shy of double-doubles, each grabbing nine rebounds. The Warriors shot 42 percent from the field.

Watertown was led by Jordan Remmers with 12 points. Kynsee Russell added eight, while Ellie Thury finished with six. The Arrows struggled offensively, shooting just 21 percent on the night.

Watertown continues its February tour of Sioux Falls schools with a trip to Jefferson on Feb. 10. The Watertown boys team faces Washington tonight in Sioux Falls.
