MITCHELL, S.D. — Estelline/Hendricks successfully defended its gymnastics title Friday, claiming the top spot during the team portion of the 2026 Class A State Gymnastics Meet.
The Redhawks finished with a winning score of 140.5334, Deuel followed behind in third place scoring 136.5002
Leading the way for the Redhawks, Maggie Hausman posted top-10 scores in all four events: 9.2833 on vault, 9.050 on bars, 9.2333 on beam, and 9.5833 on floor exercise. Riah Hartung followed suit with a 9.2667 on vault, 8.7167 on bars, 9.2333 on beam, and 9.5667 on floor. Jaylee Berwald also contributed a top-10 finish for the Redhawks with an 8.7167 on beam.
Deuel’s third-place performance was bolstered by several top-10 individual finishes. Tia Engells scored 9.1667 on vault and 8.6833 on bars, while Laycee Anderson posted an 8.8667 on beam and a 9.1333 on floor. Adysyn Wiesner added a 9.1167 on vault, Hannah Cutshaw notched an 8.9167 on vault and 8.4167 on bars, and Lauryn Peterreins scored 8.35 on bars.
The state meet continues Saturday in Mitchell with the individual competition. SDPB will provide full coverage, including live streams on its website and YouTube channel.
