McClemans’ Career Night Powers Watertown’s Upset of No. 2 Roosevelt

WATERTOWN, S.D. – A career night from Jackson McClemans and double-digit performances from Jack Mack and Kaden Decker helped Watertown upset No. 2 Sioux Falls Roosevelt 71-68 Friday night in high school boys basketball.

The Arrows led 16-13 after the first quarter, but Roosevelt poured it on in the second, outscoring Watertown 21-13 to lead 34-29 at the half. Watertown surged in the second half, outscoring the Rough Riders 42-34 to claim the victory.

McClemans led all scorers with 26 points to go with eight assists and five rebounds. Mack flirted with a triple-double, recording 15 points, nine boards, and seven assists. Decker added 10 points, while Carter Buisker finished with nine.

Four Rough Riders reached double figures, led by a double-double from Bryson Skogsberg (19 points, 10 assists). Memphis Bylander had 15 points, while Justin Bilal and Deondra Painter each added 11.

In the girls’ half of the doubleheader, Sioux Falls Roosevelt edged Watertown 51-49. Individual statistics were not immediately available.

Watertown returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 17, for a split doubleheader against Aberdeen. The girls travel to Aberdeen while the boys host the Golden Eagles at the Watertown Civic Arena.
