SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Emma Schleusner scored two goals to lead Watertown past Sioux Center 3-1 in girls high school hockey action Sunday.
After a scoreless first period, Mikenna Knopf slid in an unassisted shorthanded goal at 5:13 of the second period. Schleusner tallied her first goal of the night on a power play at 2:45 of the second, with assists from Piper Krueger and Knopf.
Schleusner’s second goal came unassisted at 12:11 of the third period to give the Lakers a 3-0 lead. Maci Cannegieter scored the Storm’s lone goal at 4:41 of the third.
Kira Reppe earned the win in net for Watertown, while Victoria Pendergrass took the loss. Watertown outshot Sioux Center 30-22.
Watertown returns home to wrap up the regular season with three games next weekend. The Lakers face Aberdeen on Friday and Rushmore on Saturday and Sunday.
