Waubay-Summit junior Addison Heinje and sophomore Hogan Hlavacek have been named the Eastern Coteau Conference most valuable players for the 2025-26 season. Both were also selected for the All-ECC first team.
Florence-Henry and Great Plains Lutheran led the selections for the ECC All-Conference girls first teams, which also include: Chellon Pruitt, sophomore, Britton-Hecla; Ashlynn Vavruska, sophomore, Florence-Henry; Ana Byer, sophomore, Florence-Henry; Katherine Prahl, senior, Great Plains Lutheran; Julia Prahl, junior, Great Plains Lutheran; Addison Heinje, junior, Waubay-Summit; and Jolene Krantz, senior, Waverly-South Shore.
Waubay-Summit led the selections for the ECC All-Conference boys first teams, which also include: Will Richter, senior, Britton-Hecla; Carson Kelly, sophomore, Florence-Henry; Wylie Rydell, junior, Tri-State; Hogan Hlavacek, sophomore, Waubay-Summit; Jace Wohlleber, sophomore, Waubay-Summit; and Kyle Kneeland, senior, Waverly-South Shore.
Waverly-South Shore’s Kelsey Hannigan and Britton-Hecla’s Troy Knecht were named coaches of the year.
Waubay-Summit won the ECC girls conference title with a 6-0 record. Britton-Hecla claimed the boys conference title with a 5-1 record, winning via a head-to-head tiebreaker.
