ABERDEEN, S.D. — It was all business for Castlewood as the Warriors dominated Lyman 56-28 in the semifinals of the 2026 Class B boys basketball tournament Friday.
Defense set the tone for Castlewood, which out-rebounded the Raiders 32-25 and forced 21 turnovers. Castlewood led from wire to wire, outscoring Lyman 18-13 in the first half before breaking the game open with a 38-15 surge in the second half.
The Warriors were led by Kamden Keszler’s 22 points. The junior shot 9-of-14 from the field and dished out 2 assists.
“We knew they were going to go after Kam pretty hard, and you know, they did,” Castlewood coach Paul Raasch told SDPB Sports. “They did a nice job on him in the first half, and Kam got a little frustrated, but he stayed with it. He’s been around, you know, he’s a veteran, and he stayed tough and made some plays when we needed them.”
Two other Warriors reached double figures: Will Aderhold added 11 points and Brody Bass finished with a 10-point night.
Cole Kieffer was the only Raider to reach double figures, tallying 10 points and grabbing 7 boards. MJ Diehm added 6 points while Josiah Vaad had 5.
Castlewood will look to defend its Class B championship against Freeman on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. in the title contest. SDPB will provide coverage on SDPB-TV2, SDPB.org/basketball and YouTube.
