The South Dakota High School Activities Association has released the 2026 high school football schedules, setting the stage for a season that kicks off Aug. 21 and concludes Oct. 16.
The schedule features several high-profile matchups. Castlewood will travel to Hamlin to open the season on Aug. 21, while Clark/Willow Lake is set to close its regular season against Deuel on Oct. 16.
The annual “Battle for the Helmet” between Florence/Henry and Waverly-South Shore, is scheduled for Sept. 4 in Waverly.
The season also marks a new chapter for Sisseton, which is moving down to the 9-man classification. Its schedule includes key road games against Hamlin on Sept. 25 and Castlewood on Oct. 9.
