Shamrocks Sign Seki, Benson to Tender Agreements

WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown Shamrocks have signed forwards Ryota Seki and Bennet Benson to tender agreements for the 2026-27 season.

Seki, a native of Hokkaido, Japan, joins the Shamrocks from Chuo University. The forward recently represented his home country at the 2026 U20 World Championships, where he led Japan in scoring. During the tournament, Seki recorded five points in five games, including a team-high four assists.

Joining Seki is West Fargo, North Dakota, native Bennet Benson. The 2009-born forward recently completed his junior season at Sheyenne High School, where he led the state in scoring. Benson registered 62 points (29 goals, 33 assists) in 27 games, a significant jump from his 16-point sophomore campaign.

Benson also competed for Team North Dakota this year, ranking second on the roster with 13 points in 10 games. His experience includes a brief stint in the NA3HL, appearing in one game for the Rochester Grizzlies in October.
