CLEAR LAKE, S.D. – The Deuel Cardinals swept every category and took the top spot at their home gymnastics quad Friday night. The Cardinals amassed 138 points, followed by Britton-Hecla in second place with 133.25. Sisseton finished third with 133, and Milbank rounded out the scoring with 132.7.
Deuel’s Hannah Cutshaw led the field, placing first in the all-around (35.55), beam (9.1), and floor (9.55). She also tied for first on the bars (8.55) with teammate Tai Engels, who added a fifth-place finish on the vault (9.05).
Other top-five finishers for the Cardinals included Laycee Anderson, who took second in the all-around (34.65), third on the bars (8.25) and beam (8.7), and fifth on the floor. Adysyn Wiesner claimed first place on the vault with a score of 9.3.
Deuel next competes in a home invitational on Jan. 31.
