Arrows Set for SoDak 16 Rematch With Mitchell

Watertown Basketball

WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Watertown Arrow boys basketball team will open its postseason run Saturday night at home against Mitchell in the SoDak 16.

The Arrows narrowly edged Mitchell 59-55 in overtime on Dec. 16 at the Watertown Civic Arena. Watertown trailed 24-18 at the half but used a 21-point fourth quarter to force the extra frame. Carter Busiker led the Arrows with 23 points, seven assists, and four steals, while Jackson McClemans added 17 points.

It has been a turnaround year for Watertown. After finishing 6-14 and missing the SoDak 16 a year ago, the Arrows earned the No. 5 seed this year with a 15-5 record. They are now just one win away from the Class AA state tournament. Watertown last appeared in the state tournament in 2024, finishing sixth.

Tipoff Saturday is 6 p.m. at the Watertown Civic Arena. Arrow TV will provide a live video stream of the contest.
