Watertown Boys Tennis Splits Duals Against Yankton, Brookings

WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown Arrow boys tennis team moved to 8-6 on the season after splitting a pair of duals, falling in a narrow 5-4 contest to Yankton before rebounding with an 8-1 victory over Brookings.

In the opening match against Yankton, the Arrows found success from Xane Fligge, Matthew Bertsch, Dawson Hartman, and Tyson Lawrence who all secured individual wins, but Yankton managed to edge out the Arrows by a single point to claim the dual.

Watertown found its rhythm in the second matchup of the day, dominanting Brookings across the board. Fligge, Bertsch, Hartman, and Lawrence all remained perfect on the day with their second singles victories, while Boston Butler added a win to the tally.

The Arrows further solidified the win by sweeping all three doubles matches against the Bobcats.
