Olson takes second as Watertown girls golf finishes sixth in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Watertown girls golf team secured a sixth-place finish Monday at the Sioux Falls Invite, held at Willow Run Golf Course. The Arrows posted a collective team score of 371, finishing 61 strokes behind tournament champion Aberdeen Central, which carded a winning 310.

Gabi Olson led the way for Watertown, earning a spot on the medalist stand with an impressive round of 74. Her performance secured a second-place individual finish, trailing only Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central. Braun continued her season-long dominance by claiming the individual title with a championship score of 73.

The Arrows’ team score was rounded out by Emma Olson, who carded a 97, and Berkley Fligge, who finished with a 99. Other Watertown competitors included Macie Stein with a 101, Liv Sherman with a 102, and Kreu Johnson with a 110.

Watertown returns to action Thursday for the Huron Invite at Broadland Creek.
