WATERTOWN, SD — The Watertown Baseball Association (WBA) raised a record-breaking $34,000 during the 2026 Hall of Fame First Pitch Outing. The banquet, held Friday night at Second Street Station, served as both a tribute to local legends and a fundraiser for the future of the sport in the community.
“The Watertown Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend may be my favorite time of the year,” said Ryan Neale, Director of Baseball Operations for the Watertown Baseball Association. “From the moment I make the phone call to let someone know they’ve been selected, all the way through the first pitch ceremonies at Saturday’s games, it’s an incredible weekend that honors the past and celebrates the rich history of Watertown Baseball.”
The funds raised are designated for the WBA general operating budget. This financial support is critical in maintaining the organization’s mission to provide high-quality athletic opportunities for players while ensuring participation fees remain affordable for local families.
The evening’s highlight was the formal induction of Jason Adams, Tanner Neale, and Grant Osthus into the WBA Hall of Fame. The three inductees were recognized for their outstanding careers and contributions to Watertown baseball.
“Congratulations to Jason, Tanner, and Grant on their induction,” said Neale. “Each of them has made a tremendous impact on Watertown Baseball, and it was an honor to recognize their contributions.”
The success of the evening was made possible by an outpouring of community support through sponsors, ticket sales, raffles, and both live and silent auctions.
“We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make the night such a success,” Neale added. “I would also like to personally thank our Hall of Fame Committee members—Andrea Pitkin, Traci Rabine, Susie Stroup, Kari Lohr, Anne Rylance, Angela Miles, Jamie Olson, and Maddie Engen—for their hard work in organizing this year’s event.”
Community members who wish to nominate individuals for the Watertown Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2027 are encouraged to visit the official WBA website to complete the nomination form.
