Watertown sweeps triangular with wins over Harrisburg Gold, Sioux Falls West

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Watertown secured a sweep Monday night, defeating both Harrisburg Gold and Sioux Falls West in a triangular matchup.

Watertown 11, Harrisburg Gold 1 (6 Innings)
A six-run fifth inning powered Watertown past Harrisburg Gold in the opening game of the night. Cain Everson sparked the big inning with a two-run single, followed by Jaxon Falak, who drove in two more runs on a double.

Cole Hanson paced the Arrows at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Falak, Everson, Maxx Sears, Sam Olson, Jonathan Lake, and Markus Pitkin each collected a hit in the victory. Jackson McClemans delivered a dominant performance on the mound, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out six over six innings.

Harrisburg Gold scored its lone run in the first inning on an RBI single by Griffin Schlapkohl. Jaxon Roesler led Harrisburg at the plate, going 2-for-3. Andrew Dierks took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits across three innings of work.

Watertown 6, Sioux Falls West 5
Sioux Falls West mounted a late-game rally in the nightcap, but Watertown held on to secure the narrow victory.

West cut the deficit to one in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Mantel Jensen and managed to put the tying run on second base. However, a flyout to right field by Bennett Duncan ended the threat and sealed the win for Watertown.

Everson, Kye Paulson, McClemans, Pitkin, and Hanson each recorded a hit for Watertown, with Hanson driving in two runs. Kooper Heiser earned the win in relief, allowing two runs on four hits over 2 2/3 innings. Hunter Halajian started on the mound, pitching 1 1/3 innings and allowing two runs, while Pitkin closed out the final three innings, surrendering three hits to earn the save.
