HURON, S.D. — Several area youth golfers put together strong performances Wednesday as the SDGA Junior Tour made its latest stop at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
In the Boys 14-15 division, Huron’s Skylar Thielbar claimed the top spot on his home course with a score of 85. Watertown’s Greyson Zebroski and Jackson Ahmann took home third and fourth place, respectively, after both carded rounds of 89.
Watertown also saw success in the Boys 16-18 division. Kaiden Weinreis of Doland took home the gold medal by shooting an 80, but Watertown’s Brecken Jungen finished just five strokes off the pace, securing third place with an 85.
Pierre’s Rigley Kulesa shot the lowest 18-hole score of the day among the boys, carding a 3-over-par 75 to win the Boys 12-13 title. In the Girls 14-15 division, Huron’s Taylor Sorben took top honors with an 88, while Ava Crooks of Astoria shot a 90 to win the Girls 16-18 division.
In the 9-and-under divisions, Nolan Rachetto of Rapid City won the boys’ title with a 41, and Zoey Zeigler of Winner led the girls with a 50.
Aberdeen’s Luke Snyder carded a 48 to win the Boys 10-11 division, while Mitchell swept the Girls 10-11 and 12-13 divisions, with Ella Leighton (53) and Kendall Aadland (62) earning gold medals.
