RAPID CITY, S.D. — Cain Everson and Lincoln Schutt each collected three hits to propel Watertown Post 17 past Rapid City Post 320 9-3 on Friday night.
The second game of the doubleheader was called due to severe weather in the Rapid City area.
Everson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Arrows, while Schutt finished a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI. Carter Buisker and Tripp Jorgenson added two hits apiece to the Watertown offense.
Hunter Halajian earned the complete-game victory, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out six over seven innings.
Tegan Sayles, Colton Sayles, Colton Mehlhaff, and Max Speed each had a hit for the Stars. Mehlhaff, Speed, and Anders Lockhart drove in one run each.
Burke Eschmeyer took the loss, giving up eight runs (three earned) on eight hits across 4 and 2/3 innings.
Watertown Post 17 (29-16, 14-8)continues its Black Hills road trip Saturday with a doubleheader against Rapid City Post 22 starting at 5 p.m. MDT.
