LAKE NORDEN, S.D. — Zach Karges threw a dominant one-hitter and struck out eight batters over six innings to lead Milbank Post 9 to a 7-0 victory over Lake Norden/Badger Post 260.
Milbank’s offense backed Karges with a aggressive performance on the basepaths, swiping 10 stolen bases during the contest.
Bennett Hunt led the way at the plate for Post 9, going 2-for-2 with an RBI. Kye Scoular drove in two runs with a hit of his own.
Turner Stevenson provided the lone hit for Lake Norden/Badger, finishing 1-for-3. Stevenson also started on the mound, pitching 4 1/3 innings. He allowed four runs on three hits, struck out six, and walked eight.
Lake Norden/Badger (1-6) looks to bounce back when it hosts Castlewood Post 250 on Tuesday. Milbank (9-5) looks to keep its momentum going Thursday on the road against Sisseton Post 50.
