ELKTON, S.D. — The Lake Norden Lakers collected 11 hits en route to a 7-1 victory over the Elkton Snappers in South Dakota amateur baseball action Sunday.
Turner Stevenson led the Lakers’ offense, going 3-for-5 with an RBI. Teague Stevenson and Josh Cleveland each drove in two runs, while Jesse Vanoverbeke added two hits to the tally.
Hunter Janzen started on the mound for Lake Norden, allowing one hit and one run over 2 and 2/3 innings while striking out one. Janzen and Cleveland provided relief work, combining to hold Elkton to one run on 10 hits while striking out eight.
Dave Bierman led the Snappers at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Aidan Stewart and Wyatt Osland each collected two hits. Owen Cass took the loss for Elkton, surrendering four hits and three runs over 4 and 2/3 innings while striking out four.
Lake Norden (6-3) returns home for a Fourth of July matchup against the Bryant Wildhogs at 7 p.m.
