VERMILLION, S.D. — Ryan and Julie Jansa of Sioux Falls shot a 5-under-par 139 over two days to capture the overall Husband/Wife Amateur Championship at The Bluffs Golf Course.
The tournament, hosted by the South Dakota Golf Association from June 27-28, featured several divisions of mixed-team competition.
In the Senior Husband/Wife division, Rob and Betsy Dewit of Sioux Falls took home the overall championship with a 1-over-par 145. Watertown’s Mike Neuroth and Mary Wicks-Neuroth finished sixth at 154, followed closely by Todd and Monica Hanten of Goodwin, who carded a 157. Other Watertown finishers included Ryan and Shawn Hansen in 23rd place (177) and Todd and Lesli Jutting in 25th (181).
Alan Baker and Joan Hegerfeld-Baker of Volga secured the Masters Overall Husband/Wife Championship, posting a two-day total of 159. Watertown pairs Mark and Lisa Williams placed third (166) and Arlo and Colita Remmers took fifth (166). Steve and Beverly Mack placed eighth with a 170, while Mike and Laurie Keszler finished 15th with a 179.
In the Mixed Overall Championship, the duo of Derek Andersen of Sioux Falls and Reese Jansa of Tea took top honors, finishing the tournament with an even-par 144.
