RENNER, S.D. — Hunter Halajian struck out nine batters to guide Watertown Post 17 to a 3-1 victory over Renner Post 307 in the opening game of a Tuesday night doubleheader, before Renner bounced back to take the nightcap 14-1 in five innings.

Halajian delivered a complete-game performance in the opener, scattering six hits and allowing just one run.
Jaxon Falak and Sam Olson paced Watertown’s eight-hit attack with two hits apiece. Cole Hansen, Carter Buisker, and Markus Pitkin each drove in a run to back Halajian’s stellar outing.
Dawson Horst went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Renner in Game 1, while Jack Canfield also collected two hits. Paxton Sohn took the loss, surrendering three runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Renner 14, Watertown 1 (5 Innings)
The second game belonged entirely to Renner, which took advantage of 10 hits and four Watertown errors to trigger the run rule after five innings.
Sawyer Konechne drove in four runs on a 1-for-2 night to lead the Post 307 offense. Sohn added a pair of RBIs, while Isaac Tobin and Canfield each finished with two hits. Parker Scheidt earned the win, limiting Watertown to one run on four hits over five innings.
Buisker led Watertown in the loss, going 2-for-3 at the plate. Olson, Jonathan Lake, and Falak each added a hit. Tripp Jorgenson took the loss, giving up 11 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits in two innings. Ashton Rabine provided two innings of relief, allowing three runs without giving up a hit, walking five and striking out four.

Watertown (32-21, 17-13) returns home to close out the regular season with four games at Watertown Stadium. The Arrows will host rival Brookings for Senior Night on July 14, followed by a matchup against Spearfish on July 15.
