PIERRE, S.D. — The brackets for the 2026 Class A South Dakota American Legion Super Regionals have been officially released, setting up a familiar postseason showdown for Watertown Post 17.
Watertown received the No. 10 seed in the tournament and will travel to face seventh-seeded Pierre Post 8 at Hyde Stadium. Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, at noon. Game 2 will take place Thursday, July 23, at noon, if necessary, a deciding Game 3 will follow 30 minutes following Game 2.
The postseason meeting offers Post 17 an immediate shot at redemption. The two squads last met on July 6 for a doubleheader at Watertown Stadium, where Pierre swept the twin bill with 4-3 and 4-1 victories. Watertown struggled defensively and offensively in those contests, combining for seven errors while failing to find a rhythm at the plate.
The winner of the matchup will advance to the 2026 Class A American Legion Baseball State Tournament, which begins July 28 in Rapid City. Rapid City Post 22 has already secured the No. 1 seed and an automatic tournament berth as the host team.
