AGAR, S.D. — Watertown’s Brynn Roehrich captured the girls championship at the South Dakota Golf Association’s Sanford Golf Series Championship on Monday, outlasting the competition at Sutton Bay Golf Club near Agar.
Roehrich secured the title on the second playoff hole after finishing regulation tied with Olivia Braun of Aberdeen. Both golfers carded a 1-over 73.
Gabi Olson of Watertown rounded out the local competitors, placing 12th after carding an 88.
The boys championship was decided in extra holes as well. Tyson Lunn of Brookings edged out Cooper Shuman of Brandon on the third playoff hole to take the title. Both players finished regulation tied at even-par 72.
Jonathan DeBoer of Twin Brooks finished sixth in the boys division, posting a 2-over 74.
