WEBSTER, S.D. — Volga Post 114 earned a pair of victories Tuesday to highlight the opening day of the 2026 South Dakota American Legion Region 6B baseball tournament.
Volga 19, Lake Norden/Badger 10
Volga rallied from an early deficit to claim a high-scoring victory in the tournament opener. Trailing 8-3 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, Post 114 pushed seven runs across the plate to take a 10-8 lead.
Lake Norden/Badger Post 260 tied the game in the top of the fifth, but Volga answered with five runs in the bottom half of the frame and added four insurance runs in the sixth.
Bret Milton led Post 114 at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Tate Steffensen started on the mound for Volga, working one-third of an inning and allowing one run, as Volga utilized five pitchers in the contest.
Teague Stevenson, Boden Stevenson, Turner Stevens, Evan Schultz, and Maddox Jacobsen each recorded a hit for Lake Norden/Badger. Jack Stormo took the loss, allowing 12 runs on five hits with five walks in his start. Post 260 used four pitchers in the game.
Britton 7, Webster 3
Lincoln Kilker delivered a dominant performance on the mound to lead Britton Post 11 past host Webster Post 40 in Game 2.
Kilker pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out nine batters. Mitch Burger paced the Britton offense, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs, while Ben Suther and Chas Vietor added two hits apiece.
Zayden Finch, Dylan Rasmus, and Dylan Carlson each recorded a hit for Webster, with Finch driving in two runs. Jack Shoemaker took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings while striking out four and walking five.
Volga 7, Clark/Willow Lake 1
A five-run fourth inning powered Volga past Clark/Willow Lake in Game 3 to secure Post 114’s second victory of the day.
Braden Danzeisen, Broden Teske, and Cooper Teske each collected two hits for Volga, with Danzeisen driving in three runs. Damon Uecker earned the win on the mound, pitching a complete game and allowing one run on eight hits with three strikeouts.
Watson Grantham led Clark/Willow Lake, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Grantham also took the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs on eight hits while striking out five in a complete-game effort.
Lake Norden/Badger 16, Webster 2 (5 innings)
Emmett Aho drove in four runs on two hits to power Lake Norden/Badger past Webster in a five-inning, run-rule victory in Game 4.
Turner Stevenson earned the win, striking out 11 batters over 4 2/3 innings while allowing two runs on two hits. Teague Stevenson and Evan Schultz each recorded three hits for Lake Norden/Badger.
Dylan Rasmus and Sheldon Schmieg each tallied a hit for Webster, with Schmieg and Tucker Acree driving in one run apiece. Schmieg took the loss, allowing 15 runs on 12 hits over four innings.
With the loss, Webster was eliminated from the tournament.
