WEBSTER, S.D. — Pitching dominance and offensive outbursts highlighted Wednesday’s action at the 2026 Region 6B American Legion Baseball Tournament.
Volga 3, Britton 1
In a classic pitchers’ duel on the championship side of the bracket, Volga squeaked past Britton 3-1 behind a stellar outing on the mound.
Cooper Teske went the distance for Volga, earning the complete-game win by allowing just one run on four hits while striking out six. Britton’s Kaden Mills was equally tough, also throwing a complete game, but suffered the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
Volga’s offense was powered by Kellon Tucker, Braden Danzeisen, and Isaac Skovlund, who each picked up two hits. Broaden Teske, Tucker, and Danzeisen each drove in a run.
Colton Chaplin led Britton at the plate, going 2-for-3, while Chaz Vietor drove in Britton’s lone run of the game.
Clark/Willow Lake 13, Lake Norden/Badger 2
On the elimination side of the bracket, Clark/Willow Lake’s bats came alive in a 14-hit performance to send Lake Norden/Badger packing 13-2.
Cooper Pommer and Jakob Steen led the offensive charge for the Dinos, each going 3-for-4. Cade Gaikowski and Will Hovde added two hits apiece to round out the explosive attack.
Max Bratland earned the win on the bump, tossing 5 2/3 innings. He allowed two runs on three hits while striking out six and walking six.
Lake Norden/Badger collected three hits on the night—one each from Boden Stevenson, Turner Stevenson, and Jose Mahe. Teague Stevenson took the loss, allowing nine runs on 10 hits over 4 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and four walks.
The loss officially eliminated Lake Norden/Badger from the postseason.
Clark/Willow Lake 10, Britton 0 (5 Innings)
Riding the momentum of their earlier win, Clark/Willow Lake capped off a busy night by eliminating Britton 10-0 in five innings via the run rule.
Cooper Pommer stayed locked in at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Watson Granthem also had a standout game, going 3-for-4 with an RBI as part of a 10-hit attack.
Charlie Luvaas dominated on the mound, tossing a five-inning complete-game shutout. Luvaas struck out six and scattered just two hits.
Mitch Burger and Lofton Heer accounted for Britton’s only hits. Burger took the loss on the mound, giving up six runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three and walking three.
With the defeat, Britton was eliminated from postseason play.
