Watertown’s Olson Fires Final-Round 66 to Win Sanford Futures College Division

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The South Dakota Golf Association hosted the Sanford Futures Championship on Aug. 4–5 at Prairie Green Golf Course and Elmwood Golf Course, featuring standout performances across college and high school divisions.

In the college men’s division, Jake Olson of Watertown captured the title with a 3-round total of 211. Olson bounced back from an opening-round 76 by firing a 69 in the second round and closing with a tournament-best 66. Jonathan Deboer of Twin Brooks finished in an 11th-place tie after carding a 225 (74-75-76).

Emerson Garlie of Northfield, Minnesota, claimed victory in the college women’s division, finishing at 147 over two rounds. Watertown’s Riley Zebroski earned a seventh-place finish with a 161 total, improving from an opening 82 to shoot 79 in the final round.

The high school division featured close competition on both sides. Tyson Blom of Sioux Falls took top honors in the boys division with a two-round score of 140. In the girls division, Ari Jacobs of Sioux Falls secured the title with a 142, defeating Katie Betsworth of North Sioux City in a two-hole playoff.
