WATERTOWN, S.D. — Four Watertown Post 17 players earned spots on the 2026 South Dakota American Legion Baseball Teams, selected by the state’s coaches.
Jackson McClemans secured a first-team selection after a historic season on the mound. McClemans etched his name into the Watertown pitching record books, setting a single-season ERA record of 1.22. He also tied the single-season record for wins with 11. His 22 appearances tied for second-most in a single season in program history, while his 97.1 innings pitched tied for third-most.
Markus Pitkin was selected to the second team following an impressive two-way campaign. The center fielder batted .358 at the plate with 68 hits, 60 RBIs, and a .460 on-base percentage. Defensively, he recorded a .947 fielding percentage on 114 total chances in the outfield. Pitkin also contributed on the mound, posting a 1.575 ERA across 11 appearances.
Post 17’s Carter Buisker and Hunter Halajian both earned honorable mention recognition. Buisker capped off an impressive season at the plate, hitting .368 with 39 RBIs. Halajian was a key contributor on the mound, appearing in 18 games while posting a 9-3 record and a 3.035 ERA.
