SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Watertown High School boys golf team opened its season this week at the two-day Warrior-Lynx Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Brandon Golf Club and Willow Run Golf Course.
The Arrows finished in a tie for eighth place with a two-day team total of 631, shooting a 313 on opening day and a 318 on Tuesday.
Sioux Falls Lincoln captured the team title with a two-day score of 575. Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring won the individual championship, shooting a 139.
Max Stemwedel paced Watertown on Monday in Brandon, carding a 73 before wrapping up Tuesday’s round in Sioux Falls with a 77. His two-day total of 150 earned him 12th place overall. Jonathan Lake finished close behind in 16th place, recording rounds of 75 and 77 for a 152.
Rounding out the scoring for the Arrows were Colton Kasuske with a 170 (89-81), Gavin Neyens with a 171 (88-83), Brekan Jungen with a 173 (82-91), and Greyson Zebroski with a 175 (83-92).
Watertown next competes at the Pierre Invitational on Aug. 25.
