PIERRE, S.D. — The Watertown High School boys and girls soccer teams earned a split against Pierre on Thursday.
In the boys match, Roger Carranza scored two goals to lift the Arrows to a 2-0 victory over the Governors. Xane Fligge provided an assist, and goalkeeper Owen Muller recorded two saves to preserve the shutout. The Watertown boys improved to 4-0 on the season.
In the girls game, Watertown fell 3-1, moving its record to 2-2. Sophia Gallardo scored the lone goal for the Arrows off an assist from Claire Schochenmaier. Goalkeeper Madi Enstad finished with three saves.
Both Watertown teams are off for the remainder of the week and return to action Aug. 29 at Harrisburg.
