SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Watertown Arrow softball team split a pair of games Sunday, falling 7-5 to Tea Area before rebounding for a 10-8 victory over Harrisburg.
Game 1: Tea Area 7, Watertown 5
Watertown took a 5-2 lead into the fifth frame before Tea Area mounted a decisive comeback. Lillian Turek ignited the rally with a two-run single to pull Tea Area within 5-4. An at-bat later, Abby Breuer hit a two-run triple to put Tea Area ahead 6-5, and a subsequent Watertown error allowed an insurance run to score.
Despite outhitting Tea Area 10-4, Watertown (1-1) could not reclaim the lead. Shauna Evenson, Leah Struckman, Macy Ingraham, and Emmy Berglund each collected two hits for Watertown, with Berglund driving in two runs.
Berglund took the loss in the circle, allowing seven runs on four hits while striking out nine and walking three.
Tea Area received single hits from Breuer, Turek, Daphne Decker, and Lily Graham. Turek and Breuer finished with two RBIs apiece. Ahryana Drake started for Tea Area, allowing five runs on nine hits with six strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings. Kallie Breuer earned the win in relief, giving up just one hit in 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Game 2: Watertown 10, Harrisburg 8
Berglund went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to power Watertown past Harrisburg in the second game of the afternoon. Ingraham delivered a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, scoring two runs, while also earning the complete-game win in the circle. She allowed eight runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and five walks.
Allie Longacre, Addy Brosz, and Emerson Oster recorded two hits each for Harrisburg. Harrisburg starter Blakesely Nold allowed seven runs on six hits over three innings, while Ragan Peacock took the loss in relief, giving up three runs on five hits.

- Blitz 8, Watertown JV1 6: Grace DeVries collected two hits for Watertown. Chesney Berglund took the loss, allowing eight runs on two hits while striking out 10 and walking five.
- Alcester-Hudson 11, Watertown JV1 4: Watertown tallied five hits, including a solo home run from Chesney Berglund and an RBI triple from Emmy Berglund. Starter Sophie Pickrel surrendered eight runs on seven hits, and Ellie Hirsch took the loss in relief.
- Yankton 6, Watertown JV2 4: Kelty Gromis, Autumn Axtell, and Jordan Evenson each drove in a run for Watertown. Evenson gave up six runs on four hits across 3 2/3 innings while striking out five.
- Watertown JV2 11, Yankton 10: Evenson drove in the walk-off run on a fielder’s choice to cap an 11-10 victory. Evenson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Axtell went 2-for-3. Payton Westfield allowed eight runs on three hits over 2 1/3 innings in the start.
