Watertown Turns Away Sioux Falls Roosevelt

WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown Arrow volleyball team recovered from a tight opening-set loss to defeat Sioux Falls Roosevelt 3-1 in its season opener Tuesday night.

After dropping a marathon first set 28-26, the Arrows took control of the match, sweeping the final three sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-20.

Watertown’s attack was fueled by Carighan Klatt who put down a team-high 18 kills and Torrence Tipton added 17 kills. Setter Jaelyn Kettwig dished out 50 assists.

Defensively, Andi Olson paced the back row with 21 digs, while Hensley Houge added 17 digs. Klatt recorded a double-double, finishing with 11 digs alongside her team-leading kill total.

Reese Munger led the front line with two solo blocks and three block assists. Kali Ellis and Cambrie Klatt contributed two solo blocks and one assist apiece.

Watertown (1-0) returns home Thursday to host Sioux Falls Jefferson.
