WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown Arrow football team opens its season Friday night at home against Spearfish, looking to build momentum after a 5-5 record last year.
Watertown received votes in the preseason Class 11AA football poll and enters the season with a roster featuring 13 seniors and 28 juniors. The Arrows will look for redemption in their opener against Spearfish, a team that handed them a 23-12 defeat last season. Watertown’s 2025 campaign included victories over Mitchell, Douglas, Tea Area, Sturgis, and Aberdeen Central.
The Arrows’ five-game home schedule at Allen Mitchell Field features matchups against Tea Area on Sept. 11, Pierre on Sept. 18, Mitchell on Oct. 2, and O’Gorman on Oct. 22.
Watertown will hit the road four times this season. The away slate includes a Sept. 4 game at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium, a Sept. 25 contest at Crane-Youngworth Field in Yankton, an Oct. 9 matchup at the Gene Brownell Athletic Complex in Aberdeen, and an Oct. 16 game at Tiger Stadium in Huron, which kicks off at 4:30 p.m.
Fans can follow the action all season. Home games will stream live on Arrow TV via YouTube, and home and away audio broadcasts will be available on 950 KWAT.
